Clinical Director: Donna Roosa, MS, CNM
As our Clinical Director, Donna is responsible for the direction, provision, and quality of clinical services provided to patients. Donna is the co-founder of Avalon Midwives, A highly successful comprehensive midwifery practice with offices in Morristown and West Caldwell. Donna has been practicing as a Midwife since 1991 and prior to that served as a Labor and Delivery Nurse.
Collaborating Physician - Dr. Lisa Meringer, MD
Dr. Meringer is a well known and highly regarded OB/GYN. She provides excellent, compassionate care. We had the honor of having Dr. Meringer deliver her own child at Our Birthing Center! Dr Meringer is part of the Axia OneCare team with offices in Morristown. We are excited to have her as a member of the OBC family.
Nursing Staff
Grace Rodgers – Nursing Staff Coordinator
As a daughter of a midwife, I have grown up believing in and advocating for natural, normal childbirth. I have worked as a labor and delivery nurse since 2012 caring for both low and high-risk mothers. I strongly believe in each woman’s right to informed, personalized care throughout pregnancy, childbirth and beyond, and count myself fortunate to help provide that kind of care at Our Birthing Center. My husband Tim and I have one daughter Winifred now 3, and newborn son Isaac, both born at Our Birthing Center in 2018 and 2021.
Jamie Rumfield, RN
Hi! I am Jamie- a wife and mom of 3 little ones. I have been a labor and delivery nurse since 2016 in both PA and NJ. Every single birth I have been apart of has been an honor. I am incredibly passionate about families having an empowering, intimate, and individualized birth experience. I am thrilled to be apart of the team at Our Birthing Center!
Erin Elsaesser – Nursing Staff Coordinator
I have had a wonderful 15 year career working in labor and delivery. I have worked at hospitals in Ohio, Colorado and now New Jersey. I am loving the change of pace that the birthing center model of care provides, and I look forward to empowering you to have the delivery you want!
Bethann Anderson – Senior Nurse / Birth Educator
Bethann has been in the birth field for over eighteen years. From the moment she started her career she fell in love with the birth process and viewed it as a true miracle. She has been a Lamaze certified childbirth educator (LCCE) for almost ten years, is a certified birth doula (CD) through Doulas of North America (DONA), and is currently pursuing her certification as a HypnoBirthing® childbirth educator (HBCE).
Penny Brown, RN
I’ve been an RN for 28 years and have worked in many different departments at the hospital. The one I found most satisfying was Labor & Delivery. Now I have the privilege of working at Our Birthing Center. It is very rewarding to be there to encourage and assist our moms and their partners during their very special time.
Claire Lichtenstein, RN
I discovered my passion for women's health and birth work whilst having my own children. I have been a birth assistant for over 3 years, and a nurse since 2021. It is an indescribable privilege to be able to support and care for women through their birthing experience. I strongly believe that all women should have choices in birth. Our Birthing Center gives women and families the option of a midwife-attended, physiologic birth in a beautiful, tranquil, and respectful environment.

My name is Renee Hennings and I have been working at Our Birthing Center since early 2018 as an Office Assistant and a Patient Coordinator. I have also been a Certified Birth Doula and Placenta Encapsulator for over 10 years. I love helping new families have wonderful births at Our Birthing Center!
