We are literally on the Hudson with breathtaking views of the New York City skyline. Each of the three birthing rooms feature deep, luxurious soaking tubs for water births, high end showers and private outdoor patio space.

Midwives of New Jersey
The Midwives of New Jersey, founded and directed by Lisa Lederer, CNM, is a comprehensive midwifery practice started in 2010. They have offices in Hackettstown, Hoboken, and Madison, NJ.

SuperMamma Birth Services of NJ
SuperMamma Birth Services of NJ is a collaboration of two NY based homebirth midwives with a commitment to maternal health equity. Annalee Reid, CM and Nicole Chen, CNM bring a combined decades of experience to their new collab.

Woven Tribes Midwifery
Janis Gildin is a licensed Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and a birth worker for over 40 years who is intimately familiar with out of hospital birth having practiced primarily as a home birth Midwife. She is excited to start this new chapter of Community Birth at Our Birthing Center.

Midwife in the City
Midwife in the City was founded by Trinisha Williams, a Certified Midwife of over 20 years with a passion for empowering women through their birthing journey. Her approach is centered around creating a nurturing and supportive environment, ensuring that each client feels heard and respected throughout their pregnancy. Trinisha believes in the power of natural birth and the importance of individualized care. Trinisha attends homebirths and delivers at Our Birthing Center on the Hudson. In addition she is the current President of the American Association of Birth Centers.
Our Birthing Center will only accept patients who are receiving their care from a credentialed provider. Additional credentialed providers service other OBC locations. If your provider is not on any of our lists of credentialed providers please have them contact us to get credentialed; otherwise you will need to switch providers.

Clinical Director: Lisa Lederer, CNM
As our Clinical Director, Lisa is responsible for the direction, provision, and quality of clinical services provided to patients. Lisa is the founder and owner of the Midwives of New Jersey. A highly regarded comprehensive midwifery practice with offices in Guttenberg, Madison and Mount Olive. Lisa has been practicing as a Midwife since 1994. Lisa’s vision of expanding Midwifery care in New Jersey makes her a natural partner for Our Birthing Center.

Dr. Shilad is a highly skilled and compassionate medical professional dedicated to providing exceptional care in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. With years of experience and a strong commitment to women's health, Dr. Shilad has earned a reputation for delivering comprehensive and personalized care to his patients. His dedication to patient-centered care ensures that each individual receives personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs and circumstances.

Grace Rodgers – Nursing Staff Coordinator
As a daughter of a midwife, I have grown up believing in and advocating for natural, normal childbirth. I have worked as a labor and delivery nurse since 2012 caring for both low and high-risk mothers. I strongly believe in each woman’s right to informed, personalized care throughout pregnancy, childbirth and beyond, and count myself fortunate to help provide that kind of care at Our Birthing Center. I have 2 children, both born at Our Birthing Center in 2018 and 2021.

Wife, dog mom, and birth nurse since 2019. When I graduated nursing school, I went straight into Labor & Delivery and never looked back! Birth is something I have always been passionate about and I love being able to help birthing people along in their beautiful journeys. The ability to be able to advocate for, empower, and celebrate with people during birth is indescribable! I am grateful to be a part of the OBC family.

Jennifer C. Ryan DNP, MSN, RNC-OB, C-EFM
I have been an OB nurse since 2002, caring for families in antepartum and postpartum with the majority of my work in Labor and Delivery. I teach nursing students in the field on Childbearing. I have 4 children of my own, 3 of them were delivered naturally using the HypnoBirthing method. I breastfed all of my children and my work for my doctorate in nursing focused on disparities in breastfeeding care for women of color. I am thrilled to be part of the birth experience for moms and their families as they bring their little ones into the world.

Our Birthing Center on the Hudson is located within the Galaxy Mall, Unit 110. When coming from the parking garage take any elevator to the Mall level and follow the mall directories to Our Birthing Center. When entering from the street (JFK Blvd E) we are on the lower level of the Galaxy Mall. Enter the mall and walk straight back (behind the stairs). Our unit has large white double doors.
